Biography
Dr. Cavitt Bartley of Roanoke, VA is a Veteran of WWII and served in the Army as PFC 103rd Infantry Division. Dr. Bartley was captured in France on Nov 29th 1944 at the age of 19. He was liberated on May 1, 1945 after spending six months between railroad box cars and Stalag VII. Dr. Bartley was awarded the purple heart, bronze star, POW and good conduct medals. He has been active as POW coordinator and staff physician at the VA and State Commander Virginia EX-POW organization. Cavitt Bartley spent most of his working career as a private practice physician and as Staff Physician to Salem Va. Veterans Hospital. Dr. Bartley and his wife Elizabeth make their home in Roanoke.
