Bio:

Entered Air Corp Reserve Classification Center at Nashville, Tennessee.  Classified Navigator April 12, 1943, sent to Navigational School at Monroe, Louisiana.  After graduating from Monroe, Louisiana we were sent to Coral Gables, Florida.  Graduated December 11, 1943 as a 2nd Lieutenant, as a Navigator.  Finally took off from Fort Wayne, Indiana May 10, 1943 flying the southern route and joined the 440th Troop Carrrier Group - 95th Squadron on or about June 1, 1944, six days before D-Day at Exeter, England. Shot down December 27, 1944 at Bastogne, Belgium and was taken Prisoner of War after parachuting from the plane (C-47 pulling a Glider).  Released from Mooseberg Camp April 29, 1945.
