| Bio: Edgar Peters was born August 11, 1915 in
Austin County, TX. He entered the service on March 19, 1941 and was
assigned to 192nd TK BN. He was captured on April 9, 1942, Philippines
Luzon. On Bataan he made the death march, went to O'Donnell,
volunteered for bridge building detail, spent rest of time at Cabanatuan
Prison Camp. He carried wood for the kitchen, worked in the Jap
garden and carried rice for the kitchen. He was liberated on
December 31, 1944.
Peters was discharged July 26, 1945, as corporal. He received the
Pacific Campaign, one Bronze star, American Defense with one star, and
Presidential Citation.
Married Kathleen on October 2, 1946; they had two children, David and
Kathy, and 2 grandsons, Shawn and Chance. Was an oil refinery
construction superintendent. Died July 18, 1995.
