Bio:
Hillman entered the Army on October 11th, 1948. He was captured during a
Chinese Spring Off. During their battle the "K" Co. were over
run by the Chinese.
Out of that battle only 19 members of "K" Co. survived. After
7 days in the mountains Hillman was captured while he was attempting to return to his unit. After Hillman was liberated,
he
was later discharged October 19th, 1953. He was later married on August
4th, 1954 to Irma Guillot Rabalais. They have 5 children, 11
grandchildren and two step-sons. Mr. Rabalais is very active in South
La. Chapter of American EX-POWs. He has served as Chaplain, Adjutant,
Treasurer and twice as the Vice Commander. He is a member of the VFW,
DAV, Purple Heart. KWVA and American Legion.
