Biography
Ken was born April 13, 1920 in St. Cloud. Grew up in Brainerd and at 18 he joined the National Guard. He served in WWII as a member of the 194th Tank Battalion Company A, out of Brainerd. He survived the Bataan Death March and 3 1/2 years in Japanese POW camps.

He and his wife Mary Ellen raised 9 children, five sons and four daughters. Ken was a 30-year employee of Capital Gears.

He was an active member of the Roseville Community and St. Rose of Lima Catholic . His 25 years of volunteering at the Listening House of St.Paul earned him a Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Service. He was also recognized by President Bush and the USA Freedom Corps for his 5,000 hours of volunteering at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.
